In the midst of many pandemic-related challenges, NLI’s Team Nepal continues to faithfully share safe water and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Beginning in April, the team added the NLI Hypochlorous Generator to their arsenal. Nepal is the first country to which this new, innovative system has been deployed. For many, wounds are often susceptible to harmful biofilms that prevent wounds from healing properly. Hypochlorous acid can effectively dissolve these biofilms and lead to healing. Unfortunately, hypochlorous acid has a very short shelf-life and is too expensive for the most vulnerable patients in the developing world. The NLI Hypochlorous Generator provides an affordable solution that brings healing to those who need it most.
Three members of NLI’s Team USA traveled to Kathmandu in April for the first time in over a year. The major goals of this trip were to deploy the first Hypochlorous Generator system and train members of Team Nepal in its use. The teams not only reached these goals, but initiated conversations with local medical professionals who are enthusiastic about the potential this new system brings. In the West, there isn’t often a lack in access to the most basic wound healing provisions, but in communities throughout Nepal and beyond, this kind of tech has the ability to change lives by preventing infection, amputation, and even death.
